Nutrition has a HUGE effect on a dogs behavior. Would you be willing to work hard every day if you had itchy skin, upset stomach, ear infections, UTI, poor gut health, etc? We want our dogs to be happy and healthy before we expect them to work for us. This is why the quality of food that we feed our dogs matters. Does your dog have major eye boogers? Stinky paws? Dry/ itchy skin? Allergies? Poor stool quality? Diet effects everything!
When you switch to a better quality food, you may spend more money, but you are saving so much more money in vet bills. Better quality dog food is more nutritious for our dogs. Therefore, you may not need to feed as much as you had needed to in the past. This means that you are saving money in the end on food AND vet bills.
Here at KCA, we believe in feeding fresh, nutritious, and balanced (as much as possible) treats. If you are training your dog alot (you should be!!) we dont want to constantly be filling them with sugar cookie treats. Several of our treat recommendations are actual balanced dog foods so I don't have to worry about them having an imbalance in their nutrition due to training. If you choose to give your dog freeze dried/ dehydrated/ fresh dog food formula as treats, they will most likely love it because it is still different than their everyday dog food diet. As long as there is a variety, they will think the "fancy dog food" is a teat!
